Azusa is a foothill city of roughly 50,000 residents in the eastern San Gabriel Valley, framed by the 210 freeway to the south and the San Gabriel Mountains rising directly to the north. Housing runs from established mid-century single-family blocks on the valley floor to newer master-planned tract in the Rosedale development on the western foothill edge. Azusa Pacific University occupies a substantial campus on the north side of the city and shapes much of the local commercial character along Foothill Boulevard.

Schools
Azusa Unified School District serves most of the city. Azusa High School and Gladstone High School are the two main high schools. Azusa Pacific University is a private Christian university with a substantial campus in the north of the city. Citrus College in adjacent Glendora is the nearest two-year community college.
