What buyers and sellers ask most often about Westminster.
How is Little Saigon defined inside the city?
The Westminster Redevelopment Agency formally designated a 1.5 mile section of Bolsa Avenue as the Little Saigon Tourist Commercial District in 1988. The broader cultural footprint extends into Garden Grove and Fountain Valley, but the official district sits squarely in Westminster. What is the housing stock usually like here?
Single-story post-war tract homes on regular block grids dominate the inventory. Lot sizes are typically in the 6,000 to 7,500 square foot range, and updated kitchens and added square footage at the rear of the lot are common value-adds on resale. Are there multiple school districts inside Westminster?
Yes. Westminster School District serves elementary and middle grades in the central and northern parts, Ocean View School District covers a portion of the south, and Huntington Beach Union High School District serves the high school grades citywide. How is access to the rest of Orange County from here?
The 405 forms the eastern boundary of the city, the 22 runs just to the north, and Beach Boulevard provides the main north-south surface route. John Wayne Airport sits about 15 miles south, and the coastline at Huntington Beach is roughly 5 miles south on Beach.Does Westminster have a true downtown?
It does not have a traditional historic downtown in the way Fullerton or Orange do. The functional center of the city is the Bolsa Avenue corridor in Little Saigon, with the civic center and library serving as the formal civic core on Westminster Boulevard.
